Sulley’s reconstruction and the Holy District

The temple now opens in the Sulley view. Use its Sulley / District button to switch to the diagram of the priestly, Levitical and city portions. The temple follows a 24-inch cubit; the independent district diagram uses a 52.5 cm cubit. These conversions and reconstructed details are modelling choices.

Read the vision alongside the model.

Ezekiel’s vision describes gates, courts, the sanctuary and an ordered place of worship. A model makes spatial relationships easier to follow. Its reconstruction also makes choices about measurements, interpretation and details that the text does not fully specify.

The temple and Christ’s sacrifice

Ezekiel’s offerings and purification language should be read with Hebrews 9–10, where Christ’s saving offering is once for all. In a future-temple interpretation, proposed commemorative rites cannot supply an additional effective sacrifice for forgiveness. Describing them as memorial is an interpretation that requires argument, not Ezekiel’s explicit label for every rite.

Other readers understand the vision as an ideal restoration fulfilled in Christ and the new creation. The architecture alone does not decide between these readings.
